Casa Blanca March 2007
We had a great time. Cabarete is awesome place. So much to see and do. Not enough time. We also visited Sosua and it is only 8 miles away. The Casa Blanca is a neat place to stay. The new owners are making all kinds of changes but the rooms are fine. Good value for what we paid. Nice private pool area. Nice garden. Beach is one minute and that is closer than the inclusive we stayed in last time at Playa Dorada. Breakfast at Claro is awesome. Sandy is in charge and she has all kinds of neat stuff, even a cheese burger.

Thank you very much for the hospitality at Casa Blanca. We really enjoyed our stay and if we ever come back to Cabarete for sure we will chose for Casa Blanca again! Nice and quiet relaxing at the clean pool, 2 meters away from the room and only 1 minute walking from the beach.

For the newcomers, order the “Chicken Veggie Wrap with bacon” for breakfast at Claro's Restaurant, right at the Casa Blanca Hotel.

Not bad at all...there is a kitchen so if you are limited in budget you can cook youself. I have not seen $15 room but the one for $25 was nice. Owner of Casa Blanca is very friendly and responsive Submitted by: Kirill S. on Wednesday, April 12, 2006

I stayed at both Extreme hotel and Casa Blanca while I was there. Both were outstanding no complaints at all they were clean nice well kept super nice people .. If launching from Casa Blanca you need to be a good kiter there is lots of shore break and some small reefs. ..They are within in walking distance 20 min walk on beach. The rooms really were well looked after clean and nice! No complaints if I go back to Cabarete I will stay in either place with out a hesitation.Submitted by: Ryan , on Wednesday, June 14, 2006

David Tyburski enjoys his stay at the Casa Blanca
David Tyburski said this about the Casa Blanca Hotel:

“The lush garden at Casa Blanca made me feel further from town than I actually was. Not only is the best breakfast in Cabarete right in front at Claro, but I was only steps away to what felt like my own private beach. Close to town, easy beach access, and comfortable rooms, Casa Blanca suited me perfectly.”

David Tyburski was the 1st place Champ in the 2002 PKRA held in Cabarete. He came back to Cabarete in 2007 as one of the six judges of the 2007 competition. He enjoyed a couple of weeks at the Casa Blanca Hotel, along with Toby one of the other judges. To his left is William, owner of the Casa Blanca. TripAdvisor: an incredible time at the Casablanca
I had an incredible time at the Casablanca ! This was my first time in the DR, and I consider this one of the best vacations I have ever had !!! The hotel was imaculate, inviting, and a totally relaxing place to be ! The owners William and Dorothy were warm and friendly, and went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable and memorable. The rooms were clean and had incredible ocean views, and the beach was just minutes away ! The village of Cabarete was so close, and a great place to go sight seeing ! I truly enjoyed every minute of my time at Casablanca, and plan on making this hotel and location a yearly tradition ! Dec. 2007

Trip Advisor: pool is gorgeous and gardens are...
Had a wonderful time in Cabarete last month. We were a little worried about the weather, but the week we were there was glorious. The Casa Blanca is in a terrific location - you can walk to the beach and into the downtown core in minutes. The beach is awesome with so much to do. My teenage kids loved boogey boarding in the waves. The town of Cabarete is friendly and welcoming with lots of great shopping. The Casa Blanca is a great place to stay, with friendly staff Juan and Rita. The pool is gorgeous and the gardens are just beautiful. Can't wait to go back!! Nov.. 2007

The Casa Blanca Hotel is really an amazing place. It's only a short walk to get to the beach, where you can get up in the morning to see the sunrise. Many of the people I met in the town have said that the Claro restaurant, located in the hotel, is one of the best places to eat in Cabarete. The service is great, with a fan in each room for when it gets hot, and a fridge to keep cold anything you might buy at Janet's the supermarket that is conviently just down the road. I came to Cabarete with a school group to build a playground at the school just across the road. The owner,William, helped us out and lent us some of his tools, and showed me the14-foot cactus in the hotel's beautiful courtyard. There is a swimming pool right outside the downstairs rooms, and an ocean view from upstairs. It doesn't look as fancy as some of the resorts in abarete, I've stayed in hotels all over Europe and North America, and looks can be decieving. The Casa Blanca Hotel should be the first choice for anyone who wishes to stay in Cabarete.

I would highly recommend the Casa Blanca. The hotel is very nice. Dorothy, the owner, would come around with a tray of cookies in the middle of the day. The pictures of the hotel online are exactly what it looks like. It’s at the quiet end of town and it only takes about 10 minutes to walk to all the restaurants in the center of town. There’s also a casino one block away, but we never had time to go there. There were some problems with overbooking and a miscommunication about check out, but it got worked out. I would definitely stay there again when I go back. And, I will go back because Cabarete is a great town.

(Overbooking -has only happened to us once in the year since we took over, but the Casa Blanca is popular and being discovered by many. Reserve your room or studio early!)

Pros: Great location- a decent walk to the center of the beach town, on the main street, but far enough where its not so noisy. Located right next to Janets Supermarket and a small store, so I saved some money on snacks and drinks (instead of paying on the beach prices). Very clean place, very friendly staff. The current owners are Canadian and very friendly and helpful. I came to Cabarete because the town isn't as seedy as other places in DR ive been to, so I felt safe here and the other visitors were fellow vacationers. Beautiful and clean pool in the back, although I didnt swim in it. Cute layout. Quiet at night so it was easy to fall asleep.. Family like atmosphere; felt like i was staying at a relatives house. I had to use a share bathroom, but it was clean and I ended up being the only one using it I think. Downstairs during the daytime is a cafe Claro. Great food and the cute waitress is really friendly and nice. House is locked at night, another safety plus. And on top of it all, the price is right. I paid $20 a night for the smallest room, as all I really needed was a clean, safe bed to sleep in as i was at the beach all day. Cabarate, btw, is an awesome beach town with a very nice, large, clean beach, lots of bars and restaraunts with great food, reasonably priced, and the beach stretches as far as youre willing to walk (i went out venturing one day).

Cons: At the night the street is dark, but it was still easy to catch a moto to the center of town. I had a little trouble with the main house lock one night.. had to jiggle the key around alot. Not many Cons I can think of.

Overall: My favorite hotel during my whole stay (stayed in 4 different hotels). A nice balance between price, safety, comfort, and cleanliness. Im coming back to DR in a few months and Im definitely going to stay here again. Highly recommended!

we stayed at this hotel for one week and i have nothing but good things to say. The rooms were very clean and nice. The staff was nothing but welcoming and kind to all of us, we were a group of 16 people. There is also a path directly to the beach from the back of the hotel. The pool was nice and refreshing at night when it was too dark to swin in the ocean. If i ever do go back I will deffinately stay at this hotel again.

View of the pool from my room's window

14 foot cactus in the hotel!
Casa Blanca has to be one of the nicest places I've experienced while on a trip. Although not the fanciest looking hotel in Cabarete, the age old saying "looks are decieving" held true. I have never stayed in a place where the owners and staff have been this kind as to go out on a limb to serve the guests. (for example, one of us forgot our passport in the hotel when leaving. The owner made it a point to drive out to the airport to return it). I was part of a 16 member school trip to the Dominican Republic (two teachers, fourteen 15-17 year olds), and we all have come away with positive reviews. The food was great, the rooms very cozy; I simply loved the place. Should I ever go to Cabarete again, Casa Blanca will be my hotel of choice, without second thought.

We loved this place. It's not for luxury lovers, but if you're looking for a cozy little hotel with friendly owners, this is the place. It's about a 5 minute walk from the main strip -- nice and quiet, but easy to get to by foot. (We felt perfectly safe walking around, day or night.) The Canadian owners, William and Dorothy, do everything they can to make you feel welcome, and have plenty of helpful local knowledge. Their attitude transmits to the guests, and we found this one of the friendliest all-round places we've been to in a while. It's an especially good place for kids. The owners bought the hotel only a year ago, and are making some badly-needed repairs, such as fixing torn screens, but if you like a low-key place where you'll feel entirely at home, this is it. We would definitely go back.

“Perfectly Simple”

VancouverFeb 29, 2008
The Casa Blanca is a simple, clean, friendly place to stay. We spent two weeks there and wouldn't have wanted to be staying anywhere else. There is some traffic noise, and it is a bit of a walk to the center of Cabarete, but it's worth it for the price and the atmosphere. If you're not looking for anything fancy, and would rather spend your money doing fun stuff and eating good food, then this is the place for you.

We spent the first week in Room 7 and then were moved, due to availability, to Suite F. The suites are much more spacious, quieter, and generally nicer than most of the rooms. So if you can afford the extra few dollars a night I'd recommend renting a suite.

The owners are very friendly and helpful, and Rita and Juan keep the place spotless. They smile a lot too. The best breakfasts in Cabarete are just downstairs at Claro.

Casa Blanca is the perfect small hotel for people
March 2011 Casa Blanca is the perfect small hotel for people on a budget who still want to be super close to the beach and all the action Cabarete has to offer. I loved the extreme proximity to a secluded swimming area as well as the option to walk five minutes along the shore to reach the main beach. The hotel garden and pool area is very peaceful and it's handy to have a superb café right on the premises. You get true value for your money at Casa Blanca and the hosts Dorothy and William do their utmost to make sure you feel comfortable and welcome.

On Sundays they had a pool party for the guests
April 2011 Stayed for 5 weeks at Casa Blanca and every thing was great. Great hotel and the owners are very nice people, if you need anything all you have to do is ask.
The rooms are basic but kept very clean. Pool was always clean while I was there. On Sundays they had a pool party for the guest, bring your own drinks and finger foods. Nice way to meet everyone.
I would go back there anytime.. Planing a trip back there for neck year.
Thanks Dorthy and William for making my holidays perfect.
